Visiting from Miami and everyone told me to try the garbage plate... It was absolutely amazing here! The service was quick and Joanne was extremely polite and very helpful. If you want to try the famous Garbage Plate.... this is where it's at!

Decent food but the restroom was super filthy and gross. Even lost the appetite and I was really looking forward to enjoying my plate

I bought a House salad with Steak for $9.50. This was a bland over priced salad. The salad just plain lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and 6 sliced pickles. The steak were skeakums that was very dry and very cold. Disappointed for the price I paid for it.

First time eating there and I've been down for 3 days with severe food poisoning... eat at your own risk. I could go in to how bland the mac salad was, or how the burgers were rubbery and over cooked, but I think the food poisoning is the bigger issue...

These guys were the best! Good prices, great food and excellent staff! I wish they’d pack up and come back to Tennessee and open shop near my house. Best food we’ve had on this vacation. Good job fellas.

Went here at 11:30pm and the man working was not welcoming or nice. I ordered pizza logs and they were way over cooked. The people who I ate with, their food was also over cooked. The man seemed annoyed from the moment we walked in.

Pretty much what you want in a "hots" quick service and good fried food

Place is filthy and the staff are loud, yelling over the counter to hold conversations with their friends. Food used to be better. The bathroom looks like no one has cleaned it in months and dust and bugs are in the window and ceiling.

What was once Rochester's best plate has now become a gamble under the new ownership. Depending on who is working you may be able to get the same great food ahead of time by calling it in or you may wait 45+ minutes for an oily and poorly prepared meal when ordered in person on what will seem like a not that busy evening. Perhaps the biggest and most frustrating change is the elimination of the fountain drink machine which has been replaced with canned soda at a ridiculous $2 each. Unless some consistency with the food and a lower drink price ($1 per can at most) can be established, you're better off looking elsewhere.

AMAZING service, DELICIOUS grub. Whether you call them garbage plates, or rubbish plates, Penfield Hots EXCEEDS the hype. Great atmosphere, clean dining area, awesome staff. And YES, they had ketchup. SO GOOD!!!

Decent though small burger if only getting a single, good prices, place is a little dingy though, dirty bathroom. Man behind the counter was friendly enough.

Prices keep going up every couple of months and the signs don't always reflect the new prices. Food quality has stayed the same despite price increases. Hasn't been the cleanest to begin with, but with the new owner, it feels like cleanliness has gone down even further. Employees are generally very nice.

First for a 6 dollars burger I didn't expect a over cooked puck patty and they game me 75¢ can of root beer for the price of 2 dollars that was warm I'm very up set because they automatically charge you 8.50 for it to get deliver buy doordash or GrubHub btw(I ordered from farther locations that was cheaper over GrubHub) to get an over priced McDonald's meal without fries...

This is a must stop for a classic trash plate. Gotta get the cheeseburger plate with macaroni, pizza sticks, and lots of pickles. Not a ton of seating inside.

Prices are good, but the place looked a little beat up inside. And cash only was a let down. Ended up paying their ATM $2.60 to get cash out... Staff are friendly.

Always a good stop to get a garbage plate

One of THE best Hots places in the greater Rochester area. This is my girlfriend's favorite Plate! Small, with outdoor seating, and a small diner feel. Bring Cash!!! NO Cards accepted - but there is an ATM on site.

A local favorite that's open late and always bustling. Strongly recommended. They even have a buy one get one burger special!

P-hots, enough said. After the recent update it is one of the cleaner hots places around. If you aren't from the Rochester area, a hots places is where you can get a 'Garbage Plate' which is hots or hamburgers on top of mac salad and home fries and topped with onion, mustard and hot sauce. They always have various grill sandwiches and fryer based sides as well.

Add another hole to your belt. Full size portions of comfort food.

My friends and I ordered from here, they messed up every single one of our orders. Then when we called to complain, the man on the phone was indescribably rude to us. The food was also extremely bland and nearly inedible. This was the worst interaction I have ever had as a customer.

I'm way overdue for creating this review! My husband and I were visiting for Christmas and we waited last minute for our annual Garbage Plate outing. Our friend recommended Penfield Hots since we were in the area. I called and placed an order 10 minutes before closing (I know, we were really pushing it), then our GPS couldn't figure exactly where the place was. I called again and the nice people made sure we got there. Our plates were fresh and delicious! They even chatted with us about our trip and where we were from. I'm forever grateful to the nice people at Penfield hots! Their customer service was above and beyond, and this is one of the best Garbage Plates I've ever had. I will be back next year!!!!

When your hours state 2am and get told "I'm cleaning the grill and am closing at 11:15.... I've been a regular for over 10 yrs....I won't be ever again

Great plates. Meat sauce isn't to spicy. Mac salad on point. One of the better joints in town to get some good plates.

Ordered food when it wasn't busy and we got it fairly quickly. But the mushrooms were not cooked all the way. The plates were fine.
